Making health care free in the world’s poorest countries.

Recently the UK government announced that they would assist with basic healthcare by making it free in places such as rural Zambia. This announcement comes after relentless pressure from Save the Children and their campaigners, who have been protesting against the government to make healthcare free in Africa since last year. Save the children play a vital role in assisting children in poorer countries to live a healthier life.

Save the children support governments to develop poverty reduction strategies and improve basic services such as-:

     Mother and child health care

     Immunisation

     Reproductive healthcare

Save the children helps to improve the quality of health care in a range of settings by-:

     Providing training

     Enhancing supervision skills

Involving communities and children in planning and monitoring health services.
