YCIA volunteer and Management Committee Member Angela Taylor has won a Spotlight Award for her part in producing the publication "Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n Dough". A trip to London was organised for Angela through Common Purpose so that she could take part in the award ceremony. Angela was one of five winners nominated for their innovative youth led projects, winning £1000 in Computer vouchers - very handy for university next year!

Angela writes of the experience:
I was really pleased to win the Spotlight Award, I think that Common Purpose did a great job in recognising how young people can be active citizens and really make a difference. I also had the opportunity to meet other young people from all over the UK who had done some amazing things in their community. Since the ceremony, there has been a lot of media coverage on the award, I think this is a great testimony to the success of Sex, Drugs, Rock, 'n Dough.
